— Photography direction
— Content strategy
— New design system
Life in Lilac provides scents that bring Jen Reed’s calm, welcoming presence into the home. As the incredible products gained popularity, Life in Lilac needed a new creative direction for the store's online presence as the brand began to outgrow Jen’s sizable Instagram following.
Good Smile worked closely with the Life in Lilac team to provide marketing and product photography creative direction housed within a new digital design system across mobile and web applications.

Buy More, Save More in context
Life in Lilac’s “Buy More, Save More” program converts bulk shipping savings into generous discounts for customers buying individual items. Our dynamic messaging feature intelligently delivers content during cart interactions to display the current savings while messaging the next discount milestone. The app also leverages user data and presents tailored push notifications to incentivize higher cart values.
Tipping towards bundles
Discovering and purchasing pre-built product bundles enhances logical efficiency for the warehouse, higher customer savings, and better business margins. Our design focused on clarity and ease during product selection to ensure users could effortlessly find and choose the best deals.
Content you can smell
Scents are impossible to convey over digital. So we crafted the next best thing: content strategy providing standard evaluation criteria while highlighting differences between the scents and products. The result is organized product detail templates with tags and keywords to help customers experience the fragrance without putting their noses on monitors.
Pictures worth a thousand prompts
Shooting great concept photography can be prohibitively expensive for growing brands. Good Smile used generative A.I. to craft multiple photo directions quickly and cheaply. We then briefed the rendering studio and social team using the selected direction to execute product photography and marketing imagery. The result is a photography pipeline and creative direction to pair closely with the new commerce experience.
Mobile, Web, and Mobile-Web
The final design system covers a responsive website and mobile application for iOS and Android. Good Smile worked closely with Life in Lilac developers to review prototypes, release candidates, and provide code samples as needed to help execute complex interactions and animations.
